Jesus Loves the Children....Happy Valentine's Day!

We made and decorated heart cookies to remind us of how much Jesus loves us!

The children made creatures out of hearts of various shapes and sizes.

Jesus is the Boss

We used water and boats to reinforce how Jesus is the boss of even the wind and the waves. The sensory table was a popular spot with one of our little guys up to his elbows in seconds!

Celebrating Winter...January 24/08

Although a little tentative at first, the children discovered how much fun it was to play in the vanilla pudding we used in the sensory bin (cold & white...to remind us of the snow of winter).

Thank you God for Winter!

Despite frigid temperatures and hair that stands on end, we celebrate and thank God for WINTER and SNOW! The children used shaving cream and glue to celebrate snow, experience fun textures, and exercise their amazingly creative God-given talents!

January 17/08

The 2s class has snack and story time in one of the classrooms while the 3s eat and have their circle time in the main playroom.
Ummm..... Thunder Bay is really dry in the winter..... it makes our hair look really funky!

Following the Star... January 17/08

After our teaching time where we reviewed how the wise men visited Jesus, we followed our own star around the playroom wearing our crowns! Our journey also ended in worship where we sang about how much we love Jesus too!

January 10, 2008 Winter & Snow

Following the Christmas story, the children learned about how the wisemen came to worship Jesus (Matthew 2: 1-12) and how we can show we love Jesus too!

Thursday was the first day of our Winter term. Our playroom theme for the month will be "Winter & Snow".

November & December 2007 Update

November and December 2007 flew by as we learned that God Always Wins through the story of God freeing the Israelites and that there is Only One God through the story of Naaman's healing from leprosy. As we prepared to teach the children about Jesus' birth and celebrate His birthday, two of our little seedlings became big brothers (congratulations Asher & Jude!) and Abby became a big sister to a second little brother. Jordan Nathaniel Gomes and Myah Grace Newman joined their families a day apart. They will themselves be Little Seedlings in September 2009!

In November, we used Nursery Rhymes (Humpty Dumpty and Jack be Nimble) to teach the children Biblical truths that God is there to help us and that He wants us to let our "lights" shine for Him. Our December playroom theme was "Christmas and Giving" as we prepared to celebrate our Saviour's birth. The kids had Jesus' birthday party on December 13 and made Christmas cookies as a special treat (check out the pictures below!)

Happy Birthday Jesus!
